Patient Rights Protection Office

The Office for the Protection of the Rights of Health Service Users operates in accordance with the provisions of Law 4368/2016 (Government Gazette 21A). Its role is to ensure that patients are informed about their rights when receiving inpatient healthcare services and to monitor and intervene where necessary to safeguard their protection. The aim of the Office is to uphold the rights of healthcare service users, in line with the principles governing the operation of the National Health System (NHS), as derived from the applicable legislative framework. Citizens may contact the Office in order to seek the most appropriate solution to any issues arising in relation to hospital services. The objective is twofold: on the one hand, to address the individual problem of the service user, and on the other, to record any dysfunction identified in procedures, so that the necessary adjustments can be made with a view to improving the overall system.

The Office for the Protection of the Rights of Health Service Users is an ally of every patient and accompanying person within the Hospital. It is here to ensure that everyone is treated with respect, dignity, and full and clear information.

LOCATION

The Office is housed in a clearly designated area on the ground floor, next to the Patient Admissions Office.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Reception and guidance of patients and accompanying persons
  • Provision of information regarding hospital operations
  • Support in matters of service delivery and communication with hospital departments
  • Information on the rights and obligations of healthcare service users

In addition, complaint submission boxes have been installed within the Hospital premises.
